Your China-side buying desk for supplier decisions that cost real money.

You already know what you want to buy. The open question is whether you have the right supplier, the right price and the right terms. China Buying Desk works from inside China — in Mandarin, directly with factories — so you can commit to an order with evidence instead of optimism.

Recommendation framework

KEEP · RENEGOTIATE · SAMPLE · SWITCH · DO NOT PROCEED

Every engagement ends in a decision you can act on, not a list of factories.

The problem

Most purchasing mistakes in China are decided before the first order ships.

Large corporations keep China-side purchasing people for exactly this reason. Smaller U.S. buyers usually do not — so quotes get accepted without anyone challenging them in the supplier's own language. These are the questions we answer.

  • 01

Is this actually the right supplier for this product?

  • 02

Is my pricing competitive, or am I quoting a middleman's margin?

  • 03

Is this MOQ reasonable for what I am buying?

  • 04

Am I dealing with a manufacturer or a trading company?

  • 05

Are the supplier's promises realistic, or agreeable in English only?

  • 06

Are my specifications actually understood on the factory floor?

  • 07

Do better suppliers exist for this specific product?

  • 08

    Can payment terms be improved?

  • 09

Will this sample translate reliably into production?

China Supplier Benchmark Sprint

$750 fixed price

One defined product. Up to three suppliers, including your current supplier where it makes sense. Direct Mandarin contact with each of them, a clean comparison, obvious risk flags, a direct recommendation and a results review call.

It is a deliberately low-risk way to test how we work before committing to a larger sourcing relationship. The sprint is standalone — you are free to take the findings and manage the supplier yourself.

Compared across suppliers

  • Unit pricing at your target quantity
  • MOQ and lead time
  • Sample cost and sample timing
  • Tooling or setup fees where applicable
  • Packaging and customization capability
  • Payment terms
  • Manufacturer versus trading company
  • Credibility and specialization signals

One product. Up to three suppliers. Fixed scope. Fixed price.

Why in-country matters

Being physically in China changes what a supplier will tell you.

Conversations in a supplier's second language tend to end in agreement. Conversations in Mandarin, in the same time zone, tend to end in specifics: what the factory makes in-house, what is subcontracted, what the real MOQ is, and what changes when the quantity changes. When a visit is commercially justified, it can be arranged and separately scoped.

Same time zone

Supplier follow-up happens during the Chinese working day.

Mandarin, direct

No relayed messages, no translated summary of a summary.

Cluster access

Access to major sourcing regions including Yiwu and other manufacturing clusters.

No commission pressure

No incentive to steer you toward one particular supplier.
